Tonight got exciting. We had a good day of driving 17 mile drive, eating lunch at Pacific Grove, visiting Point Lobos, and going to a farm stand.

Then I decided to take a long walk on the beach. The sun set on me while I was walking. On the way back, I suddenly realized that the waves are lighting up like glowsticks.

It kind of felt like being on another planet. Space travel without even leaving the state of California.

Had the good luck to experience that once, in North Carolina.

Bioluminescence is even cooler if you can do some night swimming where it’s present. It’s an absolute trip to light up the water as you flail about.

Thats so rad!the only time I've seen that in real life I was on a boy scout trip in the San Juan Islands. I remember throwing rocks into the waves for over an hour.

We had it down here in Malibu in the spring, it was truly amazing! That was back when all the beaches were hard closed so it was a bit of trespassing to go witness it but totally worth it.
